Revision of the Apimela species of the Palaearctic Region II. The first records of the genus from South Korea (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae: Aleocharinae)
Volker Assing
The oxypodine genus Apimela Mulsant et Rey, 1874 was previously unknown from South Korea. Apimela koreana sp. nov. (South Korea: Gangwon-do) is described, illustrated, and distinguished from other representatives of the A. macella group distributed in the East Palaearctic region. Apimela ussurica Assing, 2020, a species...

Apimela ussurica Assing, 2020, a species originally described from the Ussuri region in the Russian Far East, is reported from South Korea for the first time. The previously unknown spermatheca of A. ussurica is illustrated. The distributions of the two species recorded from South Korea are mapped. Additional records of A. macella (Erichson, 1839) are reported. Apimela is now represented in the Palaeartic region by 30 species in two distinct lineages.

Thymus glabrescens subsp. banaticus subsp. nov. (Lamiaceae), new overlooked thyme from Banat, Romania
Jaroslav Čáp & Radomír Řepka
A new subspecies of thyme, Thymus glabrescens subsp. banaticus, is described from the territory of Banat in Romania. It differs from other subspecies of T. glabrescens and morphologically similar taxa in the region by a set of the following features: allelotrichous hairs on the flowering branches, presence of sterile shoots, heterophyllous foliage, camptodromous venation with strongly prominent veins, upper half of calyx tube with a glabrous upper labium ridge. There is a certain phenological shift in flowering of around one week to ten days earlier. The new taxon has so far been found only in SW Romania, in the Banat region, at about 30 localities. No specimen of this taxon has yet been identified in the studied herbaria. A new combination Thymus ×radoi nothosubsp. juranyanus (Borbás) Èáp et Øepka is published in the article.

Carex ×gogelana Podp.: clarification of its identity and typification of the name
Radomír Řepka & Vojtěch Taraška
Frequent hybridisation and difficult identification of hybrids lead to many nomenclatorical ambiguities in the genus Carex. Here we focus on the puzzling name of C. ×gogelana described by J. Podpìra as a hybrid of C. distans and C. oederi, which is applied to various hybrids in the literature. Syntype specimens were found to...

Here we focus on the puzzling name of C. ×gogelana described by J. Podpìra as a hybrid of C. distans and C. oederi, which is applied to various hybrids in the literature. Syntype specimens were found to represent several taxa, but none of them corresponding to the abovementioned hybrid combination. A plant of C. demissa in the BRNM herbarium best conformed to the protologue in terms of plant appearance as well as collecting locality, and it was thus selected as lectotype.
